|| About Not Fooling Anyone ||

Not Fooling Anyone is the first single off Glass' forthcoming debut album, Running Down.

Playing with time and perspective, Not Fooling Anyone is a provocative exploration of how a person measures their own morality.

Glass worked with Nicholas Roder to compose and arrange the orchestral elements to the song. The strings and wind instruments work together to create a playful and chaotic scene, almost mocking the sincerity behind the lyrics.

Written and devised during Melbourne’s lockdown, and recorded at Abbotsford’s The Aviary Studio by Joshua Barber in 2021, The song features performances from local Melbourne-based musicians Nicholas Roder, Erica Tuceri, Flora Carbo, Lewis Coleman, Lena Douglas, Joshua Barber and Andrew Clarke.

Not Fooling Anyone is released May 10th and the album Running Down will be released in July 2023.

|| Lyrics ||

It's too late to go back to bed. You check the time just to know it's there.
You've got the rest of your life to tell it - you're not fooling anyone.
See, life's been good to me, really missed your chance to have everything.
You've got the rest of your life to dwell.
You know, I know, we're not fooling anyone.

Three years on my first degree, four more 'til the salary.
I've been spending my time trying to find myself.
I'm a trust fund baby slouch. Gee, that feels good to say aloud.
You think you're a champ? You give up the most, but come out on top.

It's too late to go back to bed. You check the time just to know it's there.
You've got the rest of your life to tell it - you're not fooling anyone.
You really are your mother's son, casting shadows over everyone.
You know you really don't look too well.
You know, I know, we're not fooling anyone.

Turned back 'cause I lost my way. Saw you kissing behind the stage.
I wipe the blood off my nose with the back of my hand.
So you start spinning lies, leaving him ashamed inside.
You think you're a champ? You give up the most, but come out on top.

You've got the rest of your life to dwell.

It's too late to go back to bed, you check the time just to know it's there.
(Spend the rest of your life as somebody else. What damage is done?)
Turned back 'cause I lost my way. Saw you kissing behind the stage.
(You think you're a champ? You give up the most but come out on top)
It's too late to go back to bed, you check the time just to know it's there.
(Spend the rest of your life as somebody else. What damage is done?)
Turned back 'cause I lost my way. Saw you kissing behind the stage.
(You think you're a champ? You give up the most but come out on top)
It's too late to go back to bed. You check the time just to know it's there.
